Old Navy is one of our favorite places for affordable activewear, including this sporty ribbed one-piece. This suit is priced around $35 and is often on sale for even less. It's made from a jacquard jersey fabric, which is blended with a touch of elastane for a comfortably stretchy fit.

The silhouette is that of your classic one-piece, with a scoop neckline, low back, and full coverage rear. It's available in a size-inclusive range from XS-4X, and reportedly runs slightly large. The three simple, solid colorways make it a great choice for stocking up on multiples.

"I love all of my TA3 swimsuits, but the Lifty is my favorite because the underwire is so supportive and prevents the dreaded uniboob that some one-piece bathing suits can cause. The way the sizing works is nothing short of a miracle. You get to choose your bodice length (short or regular/long), your usual swimsuit size (from XS-4X), and your cup size (from A-J/K,) to get the absolute perfect fit, plus there are a bunch of color options. There's even an option for a high-cut version of this suit here if you prefer to show more leg. I've truly never had a one-piece fit me better!

"The thick shoulder straps are comfy and adjustable, and the cups cradle me perfectly with no digging. It even looks super cute as a bodysuit, so you could theoretically wear it with jeans or flowy linen pants and no one would be the wiser. But I know you're all here to find out whether it actually does what it promises to do, which is give you a snatched waist. The short answer is: yes! The longer answer is absolutely yes; the lacing in the back actually works like a dream to cinch your waist in. But the good news is that if you're ever feeling bloated or you just want something a little less compressive, you can always just loosen it up. It's like having two sizes in one!

We tested different long-torso swimsuits made with extra fabric around the middle. These monokinis are designed for anyone who struggles with perpetual wedgies and too-short shoulder straps. The best of the best turned out to be yet another suit from Andie.

"With a deeply plunging neckline, thick straps, and good bum coverage, this suit has a silhouette that's highly becoming on a variety of body types," writes freelance style reporter Talia Ergas. "The Mykonos suit is my go-to because it's super cute, but it also offers decent coverage to keep me secure during the day's activities."

In our guide to the best plus-size swimwear, freelance style reporter and plus-size fashion expert Sarah Chiwaya listed the Summersalt Sidestroke as her favorite one-piece. "Instead of just sticking with one cross strap in the back, this style has two, which distributes bust weight more evenly and doesn't dig," she writes. "I was happily surprised that this style worked as well as it did on me, as most one shoulder styles leave me lopsided and uncomfortable."

Insider Reviews executive editor Sally Kaplan also recommends the single-strapped monokini for people with large busts. "My main consideration when buying a swimsuit is whether or not it has enough support to handle my chest," she writes. "I have a DD cup size, so it can be a pretty significant challenge. In a bold move, I tried the one-shoulder Sidestroke suit in 'White Sand' — which was risky for two obvious reasons. I have to say, I'm incredibly happy with how supportive the suit ended up being. There was no issue with lopsidedness or sagging, and the diagonal seaming on the front was super flattering. The white color isn't see-through when wet, either," according to Sally.

Claiming the title of the best one-piece is a tall order, but, as the name suggests, this one from Summersalt is getting pretty close. The wrap style is universally flattering, it's supportive, comfortable, and the compressive fabric keeps everything in place so you can enjoy the beach without having a fashion emergency. "The thing I love so much about the crinkle style is that the material is silky and weighty, but it's not compressive at all (unlike the TA3 shaping swimsuit, which I also love but for very different reasons)" writes Sally Kaplan, executive editor of Insider Reviews.

"Even once it's wet, the way the material clings to the body doesn't make me feel too exposed, plus it has a normal-cut leg for a solid amount of coverage," she continues. "And I know that because it's super stretchy, it's going to fit me through the very real weight and size fluctuations I experience at the whims of my cycle."

A belted one-piece adds dimension to your silhouette, in way that's similar to the old-fashioned pin-up girl swimsuits of the 1950s. We recommend Hermoza's one-piece swimsuits because their designs are family function-appropriate, yet they don't look matronly in the least.

"As a person with a larger bust size and smaller band size, I really appreciated how the suit fit me," writes style editor Samantha Crozier. "Their suits come in sizes 2-14 with a lining that's both taut and comfortable, so it holds you in but you still feel comfortable sitting and lounging. Plus, they have a whole section for DD+ cup sizes."

The Marisa suit's belt is removable, so you can also wear it as a bodysuit with jeans. While the rear is full coverage, its leg openings are high-cut so your legs look longer. It truly strikes a balance between modest and stylish with finesse.

For a sporty, supportive option, the Malibu is one of the best one-piece options. With compressive fabric, a snap-front high neckline (which you can unbutton if you want to show a little more skin), removable soft cups, and an under bust elastic for a lift, this suit gives you maximum bust support that can handle even your toughest water workouts.

For the brave among us, there are bandeau one-pieces. They may not be the most practical for water activities that require a lot of movement (diving, surfing, you get the gist), but they are so chic and cute. This one from J.Crew comes in over 10 colors, a wide range of sizes (0 to 24), and has classic and long-torso fit options. 

Left on Friday's swimsuits are made to keep up with you wherever your beach day takes you, whether that's lounging on the sand or swimming laps. This classic silhouette boasts soft, compressive, flattering fabric and a cute cutout detail under the chest so you can show a bit more skin without wearing a bikini. 

The beauty of wearing a Spanx suit to swim laps at the pool is that the material feels as streamlined as its famous shapewear. This high-neck one-piece is made two layers of a nylon-elastane blend: the bottom gives you a medium amount of compression, and the top is a textured pique fabric. It also rated UPF 50+ protection, for those who practice outdoor water sports. You can find it in sizes XS-3X, though customer reviews report that it runs small (especially if you have a long torso).

If support is your #1 concern when looking for a one-piece, look no further than Helen Jon. Most brands use fit models (models with the perfect proportions for any given size) to make sure their styles fit well. They work with one fit model in a median size of their range and then scale their patterns up and down to accommodate smaller and larger sizes, but Helen Jon realized this method was flawed. It doesn't take into account any variety in body type, shape, and age. That's why Helen Jon uses real people, like their employees, as fit models instead. Each piece is fit on at least seven different bodies to ensure it fits a myriad of body types and fits them well. 

This suit is fully lined and reinforced with an underbust seam. It also features a v-neck and shirring detail around the torso for a super flattering fit. While there are a few suits with underbust seams on this list, Helen Jon offers the most supportive fit for most body types and busts.

If you're looking for one suit to splurge on this season, Hunza G is worth checking out I tried a cheaper alternative, but was not impressed so I ultimately decided to give the brand a try and quickly found out it's worth the hype. While I was skeptic of the "one-size fits most" method, my Hunza G suits fit like a glove. The fabric is super stretchy and buttery soft, it expands and contracts to perfectly fit anyone who tries it on. The scoop back, signature crinkle textured fabric, and bright bubblegum pink color make this suit one that's sure to stand out.

Abysse is all about empowering women with swimwear that looks, feels, and functions great. The Gail Suit delivers on all fronts, and then some. The one shoulder and blue-checkered pattern are so fun. It's double-lined, UV protective, made with recycled nylon, and is Global Recycled Standard and Control Union certified to boot.

This slinky one-piece is perfect for busts of all sizes, including those in the IBTC. It's fully lined but is free of pads and underwire. The peach perfect fabric is so stretchy and soft, it feels like second skin.

For moms-to-be, the best one-piece must be exceedingly comfortable. Hatch's maternity wares are thoughtfully designed to keep pregnant people feeling their best with clothing that feels good for their changing bodies.
