AND WEDNESDAY...
.Very dry air will spread over Colorado the next few days, and
breezy conditions in some areas will elevate the fire danger. The
most significant fire weather will be near the northern Colorado
border where winds will be a bit stronger. Critical fire weather
conditions are expected in the northernmost mountains around
Walden and Rabbit Ears Pass today, and they will likely be a bit
more widespread over the northern mountains and foothills on
Wednesday with warmer temperatures and a bit more wind.
Over the plains east of the I-25 corridor it will also be breezy
this afternoon, which will raise the fire danger.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 211 and 217. North Park and
the mountains of western Grand and western Jackson counties.
* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from noon today to 7 PM MDT
this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from 11 AM Wednesday
morning through 7 PM Wednesday evening.
* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph today.
Gusts up to 40 mph possible on Wednesday.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 11 percent.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a
spark and start a wildfire.
