Roll up to 420 fest

Sunday. The highest of holidays is here for cannabis enthusiasts and, along with it, Denver’s signature celebratory event. This year’s Mile High 420 Festival includes a stellar lineup of live music topped by hip hop artists Cordae and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, food trucks to satisfy the munchies, and an appearance from Tommy Chong. What’s new this year is an entry fee. The festival is typically free to attend for those ages 21 and up, but it costs $25 for general admission in 2025. Follow your nose to Civic Center park on Sunday, April 20, to join the fun.

Easter Egg hunt at Four Mile

Saturday. Denver’s Four Mile Historic Park will once again host two versions of its popular Family Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, featuring 20,000 eggs for kids to discover hidden around the 12-acre park. The hunt, which runs in two sessions at 8:30 a.m.-noon, or 1:30-5 p.m., features “age-specific” zones (so the bigger kids don’t claim everything at once), mimosas and Bloody Marys for parents, a spring marketplace with local vendors and artisans, photos with the Easter Bunny, and a special prize if you happen upon one of several golden eggs.

Adults and kids are $23, with those under 2 free; includes general park admission. A printed photo with the Easter Bunny is an extra $10. All ages. Visit fourmilepark.org for more information. — John Wenzel

Dank beer + bluegrass

Saturday. Just because beer is your vice of choice doesn’t mean you can’t also celebrate 420. On Saturday, Oskar Blues Brewery hosts its third annual Dank Grass Fest, complete with a heady selection of IPAs to pair with an equally delicious lineup of bluegrass music. That includes headliner Travis Book & Friends, a supergroup featuring members of The Infamous Stringdusters, Jon Stickley Trio and more. There will also be a so-called Shakedown Street where artists, vendors, and “some of our friends in the cannabis industry” will be set up, the brewery said.

Dank Grass Fest comes to Oskar Blues Brewery, 1640 S. Sunset St. in Longmont, on Saturday, April 19 from noon to 8 p.m. The event is free to attend. Find more information at oskarblues.com/events. — Tiney Ricciardi

Ski resorts closing parties

Through Sunday. This 420, locals can get elevated without ever consuming cannabis by attending closing day at one of four ski resorts. Snowmass celebrates the end of the season first, with DJ dance parties and hot tubs on Saturday, April 19, though the mountain will remain open through Sunday. Then, on Sunday, April 20, Aspen Mountain invites skiers out for beats and bubbly, Eldora ski resort hosts a pond skim, and Steamboat Ski Resort lines up friendly competitions, like races and a rail jam.

Costumes are highly encouraged at all end-of-season parties. Admission requires a lift ticket. Find more closing day details at the respective resort websites. — Tiney Ricciardi
