The most significant fire weather will be near the northern Colorado border where winds will be a bit stronger. Critical fire weather conditions are expected in the northernmost mountains around Walden and Rabbit Ears Pass today, and they will likely be a bit more widespread over the northern mountains and foothills on Wednesday with warmer temperatures and a bit more wind. Over the plains east of the I-25 corridor it will also be breezy this afternoon, which will raise the fire danger. The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 215 and 218. This includes the higher mountains from Rocky Mountain National Park north to the Wyoming border and the foothills of Boulder and Larimer counties.
