Eastbound I-70 closed near Glenwood Springs for crash involving semitruck carrying cattle
As of 9:30 a.m. Thursday, eastbound I-70 was closed between exit 114 for West Glenwood and Exit 119 for No Name for a crash involving a semitruck, according to CDOT.

Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed Thursday in Glenwood Springs after a commercial truck carrying cattle crashed onto its side, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
As of 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the eastbound interstate remained closed between exit 114 for West Glenwood and exit 119 for No Name, according to CDOT.
CDOT cameras in the area of the crash at 9:30 a.m. showed crews walking around a tractor-trailer that had turned over onto its side. Multiple safety crews and vehicles were on scene trying to upright the truck, the cameras showed.
The tractor-trailer was hauling cattle when it crashed onto its side at about 8 a.m. Thursday near Mile Point 116, blocking both eastbound lanes of I-70, CDOT officials said in a news release.
Information on what caused the crash and when I-70 would reopen was not available Thursday morning. CDOT officials said drivers could expect an “extended eastbound closure” with multiple law enforcement agencies on scene.
Detours in place include taking Colorado 13 in Rifle north to U.S. 40 in Craig and rejoining I-70 outside of Steamboat Springs or taking U.S. 50 and U.S. 285 through Gunnison. CDOT officials said Cottonwood Pass on Colorado 306 is still closed for the season and cannot be used as a detour.
