An Aurora Science & Tech Middle School student was seriously injured after she was stabbed by another student during an argument, police said Wednesday.

The two girls were outside on school grounds when they began arguing, the Aurora Police Department said in a post on social media. As the argument escalated, one of the girls stabbed the other.

The victim was taken to the hospital and the other girl was detained by police, officials said. The school is on a secure perimeter.
